Getting Started with Social Networking for SEO Traffic Building

The simplest way to start social networkign is by simply building a profile for your business, service or product on sites like MySpace, Facebook and Second Life. Grab a name that relates directly to your business e.g. http://www.myspace.com/promotesem. This is worthwhile as you can then take your time to build a profile but have your name protected.

You can get professional companies to design a layout for you or use one of the many templates or tools freely available on the web to build your site.Note: Here is the most important thing to remember: Once you've built your profile on these sites you must then stay involved with the people who visit your page.

You can do this by adding new content often that is useful to these audiences (sound familiar... isn't that what Google wants too?) and responding to friend requests you get. From your point of view, the Search Engine Optimisation benefit is that you establish great search engine content that also links directly to your company's website.

To use sites like Digg and Del.icio.us, submit news, articles and tips that you feel are useful to the members of these sites. If the you post is interesting, members will cast their approval by voting for your news. The more votes you get, the higher up the list your info will appear.

Set Up Useful Thank You Pages to build Traffic

Sometimes when you're marketing, you end up with underutilized pages within your site or marketing process. An example of this is a thank-you page. Most people just have a thank you message on this page when it could be used to hold a video, offer or option to join a newsletter. Worse still, they just send visitors back to the same page confusing the visitor into thinking that the form might not have worked.

A special page is also a great place to give away a free information or planning file that your clients can use that will ultimately help you when they decide to work with you e.g. 10 Things to Think of when Planning a Website. Though Search Engine Optimisation And Link Building are important but these kind of thank you messages help a lot.

Don’t waste website real estate! You have an interested client already filling out a form, why not try to improve the relationship or sell them into a loss leader product?
