SEO Content Writing Tips for Higher SERPs

There are a lot of misconceptions about SEO content writing on the web. For one, it won’t necessarily get you to the top of the search engine rankings on its own. It has to be adjunct to something else. Another thing you probably won’t see on many other sites offering technical information on SEO content writing is that even if you did manage to get to the top of the search engine rankings, your customers will most probably expect that the copy you present them with is of a certain quality – something many website owners and webmaster neglect.

Being number one in the search engine rankings is only half the game won. The other half of the game is that you keep your customers bound to the information presented on your website and, more importantly, ensure that they return. Luckily you can do both at once just by ensuring that you or your writers keep these pointers in mind.

· Try putting yourself in their shoes. Consider how Internet users approach web pages. Unless your website is newsworthy, readers will often only come to grab the information they want and then move on. Most of the time they will only scan through the text, something with which you can help by using clear and concise language. Your visitors will appreciate your website even further if the information on the website is segmented, meaning that your paragraphs are short and each paragraph is focused on one idea only.

· Too much information can be a bad thing! Think about it – you are looking for something on the Internet and come across a website that seems like it might contain the information you want. But it has so much additional information! Web users are impatient and will quickly go back to their search results (and never come back to your website) if they think that you might be misleading them. SEO content writing should be kept brief and simple, focusing only on the core ideas. If you really want to supply more information, you can do so on a separate page.

· Inject some passion in your work. This is of course an abstract concept related not only to SEO content writing but to writing in general and something not everyone has. But still, if you have the ability to show that you have a passion for what you do through your words, you’ll not only sell better to those already interested, but you’re likely to be remembered by those web users who just happened to come along.

· Keep it simple! This refers to the vocabulary used. Remember, not everyone has a college degree and even if they do, some of them might still not be able to understand what you are trying to tell them. Use simple, small words in your SEO content writing to increase the flow of your text and make your website content more memorable.

SEO content writing can almost be considered as an art form if done right. Even though it has evolved as a means to enable website owners and webmasters to get higher rankings, SEO content writing should first and foremost be about the client.
