Internet Marketing Tactics For These Tough Times

As we enter into what many enlightened souls are calling the most dire economic times since the Great Depression, online marketers need all the help they can get - regardless of the source. You have probably heard of Google; but chances are almost 100% certain, you have never heard of me. Lucky you!

Actually, the only thing you need to know about me is that I am a full-time online affiliate marketer and I make a very comfortable living from the web. Last year (2008), was my best year online so far, which left me scratching my head and saying what recession?

But that may be something of a false positive, as I will never know how much I could have made if the economic times had been good instead of bad. Plus, judging from my own limited experience, selling and marketing online may not have been hit as hard as those businesses in the real world in 2008, since consumers are doing everything to save a penny and shopping online has become a much cheaper alternative for many.

As we enter into these uncertain times, online marketers and webmasters need all the help they can get. Recently, Google mailed a small booklet to its Adsense users; in it Google gives "6 Top Tactics For Tough Times." It is obviously referring to its Adwords PPC (Pay Per Click) program and clients but Google's advice can be applied to your general online marketíng.

These tactics include: (quoting directly from the Google mail-out)

1. Focus your ads on low prices and savíngs.
2. Use Value-related keywords.
3. Ensure your ad groups are targeted and relevant.
4. Don't waste money on irrelevant clicks.
5. Make it easy for customers to buy.
6. Focus your money on your high-performers. (End Quote)

Sound advice and I especially like the idea of focusing your marketing on low prices and savíngs mainly because people want bargains in tight economic times. I also like the fact that you must make it easy for your customers to buy... something as simple as putting your "order/buy link" above the fold can improve your conversions.

Also, targeting value-related keywords, is a very effective marketing tactic. Relating your keywords to "discounts, bargains, cheap, inexpensive, lowest prices..." will help improve your sales. So too, is catering to phrases that suggest the searcher is in a buying mind-set: gifts, presents, gift ideas, wedding gifts... shoppers searching those words are ready to buy.

Plus, focusing your time and money on your high-performers is solid advice. Sometimes succeeding online is simply finding a market niche that works/performs - then running with it. Once you have found the keywords and products that perform well with your site or sites - focus the majority of your time and energy developing those niche markets.

Now here are some of my most effective marketing tactics that have worked for me and tactics I will be relying on in the coming years - even in these hard times.

Make Keywords Your #1 Goal

This is the single most important factor for my own online success. You have to make keywords and ranking high for them in all the search engines your main objective if you're marketing online. Might sound obvious, but many beginning marketers don't truly understand how important getting top rankings for your chosen keywords will be in your online success.

Target less competitive long tail (multi-worded) keywords to get started and slowly work your way up to more popular keywords. Center your marketing around getting those first page listings (Top Five) for your keywords. Achieve this goal, (especially in Google) and it will be almost impossible for you not to succeed and make a profit with your online marketing even in bad times.

Autoresponders, Líst Building & Online Relationships

Keeping in contact with potential buyers is mission critical. You must use autoresponders to send follow-up messages to build trustful relationships with your potential customers.

So building a large contact líst is essential. That's why the social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace can be very effective marketing tools for building this online contact and trust. Truth be told, all these social networks are, more or less, just glorified autoresponders and líst builders!

Your Unique Selling Position

You must give potential customers some very good reasons for them to buy from you or your links. Offering special bonuses and discounts works wonders for your sales. Some of my most successful pages simply consist of coupons and discounts offered by different companies. If buyers can save $100's OFF by buying thru your links, they will.

Always remember, besides looking for the best deal or bargain, consumers are also looking for a quality product. If you're into affiliate marketing, only pick top quality products to promote. Picking top brand names also makes it easier to make sales. So too is only promoting popular online merchants like Amazon which can be an effective marketing strategy. Most importantly, always remember consumers are also looking for INFORMATION on the products they are considering buying, give them helpful information and you will succeed.

Go With The Flow

If you're marketing online, you have to follow what's working for you. Most times you will try countless ideas or tactics - once you have found a process or system that works, really work it or scale it up. Making your first dollar is the hardest, but once you do something that earns you that dollar, just repeat that "something" a thousand times.

Tracking what works is very important so keep a close eye on your site's traffic logs to find where your customers are coming from. Something like Google Analytics is simply priceless for "fine-tuning" your site and your internet marketing. It will tell you what's working and what's not.

Target Recurring or Residual Income

One of my most effective marketing strategies is to promote and sell products and services that give you a recurring or residual income. Make one sale and get paíd for years or for the life of that referred client. Concentrate on services like web-hosting, telephone, marketing programs... once customers sign up to these services, they will likely keep them for years. I am still earning income from sales I made five years ago.

Building a large residual income could be the key to surviving in tough economic times. This will be income which will carry you or your business over the rough patches since it is based upon past performance and not on your current selling situation.

Automate Everything

The real beauty of marketing online and using computers... you can automate just about every process in your marketing system. Make it a point of automating everything you do... use autoresponders to follow-up with potential buyers, use automatic check-outs, automatic reporting... just set-up your whole internet marketing system that runs itself with little or no supervision from you. This will free up your time to concentrate all your efforts on marketing/promoting your site or product. Besides, nothing beats coming back from a vacatíon and finding out you have earned the cost of your vacatíon and then some - all the while you were lying in the sun and miles away from any computer.

Find The Top Online Marketers

If you're just starting with internet marketing, you need to find the top successful marketers and "model" what they're doing. This is relatively a new industry and you have to seek out the experts and pioneers who have set the groundwork. When I first started marketing online, I was quite fortunate to come into contact with some web marketing heavy-weights such as Marlon Sanders, Ken Evoy, Neil Shearing... and SEO experts like Brad Callen and Aaron Wall.

Make Google Your Friend

Whether you love or hate Google doesn't matter, you just have to make it your number one ally in your online marketíng. Google has just about conquered the world-wide search market, Yahoo and MSN are still important, but Google is the deal-breaker when you're selling stuff online. Consumers have enormous respect for Google, a number one listing for a lucrative keyword simply means money in the bank.

I have found using Google Search, Google Adwords, and Google Adsense have played a more than significant role in the success of my own online sites and marketing. Google tools such as Google Analytics, Google Alerts, Webmaster Tools... all have been invaluable and an enormous help in achieving my "web-based" lifestyle and livelihood. Of course, Google has also driven me around the bend more times than I can count, but no one is perfect. Besides, when it's all said and done, anyone marketing on the web must truly embrace Google if they want to reach their highest level possible.

Adsense 101: The best way to make money online

If you have been online for sometime, you might already be knowing what is Adsense. It is one of most successful ways of monetizing your website or blog. There are hundreds and thousands of websites on this topic and many Internet marketing experts have written numerous blog posts and ebooks on the same topic. And then there are so many discussions on Adsense in almost all major discussion boards. To put in a few words, Adsense is the BUZZ!

Adsense is a Google owned program that allows webmasters to display pay per click ads on their webpages. The advertisements are content sensitive (or contextual). This means that if you have a website on computers, advertisements displayed with be about computers. Adsense ads are highly relevant and it is because of this reason that Adsense as a program is highly successful. In fact, in the 3rd quarter 2007, Google made a whooping $1.45 billion just from Adsense alone.

There have been other ways of online advertising like popups and banner ads. However, these are not so profitable and efficient when compared to pay per click ads. When was the last time you clicked on a banner or waited to see what a popup was about to display ? You get the point! However, the case is different with pay per click ads. These ads are contextual and so blend in the with the content of the web page. Users click on the ads only when they are interested in the ad. And this creates highly targeted traffic to the advertiser. Targeted traffic means more conversions and return of investment plus profit.

On the other side of the Adsense program there is another program called Adwords, which allows advertisers to buy contextual pay per click ads. To put it in other words, what Adsense is to publishers, Adwords is to advertisers. Suppose, you run an online stores selling RAM modules. You register for Adwords and bid on the keyword "Buy cheap RAM". So if a visitor searches for "buy cheap RAM" and visits a site where your ad is being displayed, he may click on the ad and buy a RAM module. If you a get of profit of $5 per RAM stick and you bit $1 for a click, it would be $4 in profit. If on the other hand, if you were to take the help of a search engine optimization firm to reach the top for that same keyword, you will not only have to invest much more, but you will also have to wait a long long time before you see profitable results. For this reason most people in the field of online marketing use Adwords and other similar programs to see instant results.

For the webmaster, Adsense offers a very good of monetizing his/her website or blog. First and foremost, Adsense ads blend perfectly with your content. Unlike other forms of advertising like banners or popups, ads are not forced onto the user. There are a very large number of advertisers and for this reason, there are matching ads for every possible niche. And getting accepted into the program is very easy. If you have a website with about 20 pages or so that complies with the Adsense TOS, you will get accepted for sure.

Adsense also has a cost per action program called "Adsense Referrals". This means you get paid only when the advertiser makes a conversion from the ad displayed on your site. It can either be a sale or a sign up or something similar. This is profitable for both the advertisers and the publishers. Advertisers have to pay only when they see results and publishers get paid a much bigger sum when compared with ordinary pay per click ads.

If you want to make some money from Adsense, I would recommend creating a website on a topic you are familiar with. Create about pages, each with 500 words or more and then apply for the Adsense program. Don't start with popular topics like web hosting or credit cards. You will have a tough time getting traffic from search engines as there are an extremely large number of websites with whom you will have to compete. And don't create a website on some topic that nobody is interested in. Even if you top the search engines for your keywords, you won't see good traffic.

There is plenty of information on this topic and there are many ebooks. The main website www.adsense.com provides plenty of information. You may also consider subscribing to blogs dealing with adsense and stay updated with new developments and changes. You may also consider buying some of the ebooks on the topic. These provide step by step information on creating viable websites. Most of these ebooks also provide good information on search engine optimization and other related topics. If you get stuck with doubts, you can ask in webmaster forums like DigitalPoint and other forum members will help you.

Google Adsense :You Will Need To Choose Exceptionally.

Let us see how the Internet can be used to make some good cash online. One totally fail-proof method to draw profits from the Net is to use pay-per-click to generate adsense income. This method is so simple to
understand and easy to operate that absolutely anyone can do it.

In order to get a good and continuous income flow from the adsense ads, you will need to use a form of traffic arbitrage in combination of some good but low cost keywords and the bid on the different pay-per-click search engines like Google. In order to have the system fail proof you will have to work initially to plug in any imbalances that may exist. You must take care about the following:

1. Keywords: You will need to choose exceptionally
apt keywords, which will be high paying. For this you should be tuned in on what is the right combination and you should be able to attract the right type of crowd to your website. You will payment for PPC
should be justified vis-à-vis the adsense ad, or you will not make money. Your keywords should attract sufficient traffic to attract enough traffic for you to make a neat income.

2. Content: You have to ensure that the ads and the
content are highly relevant to the visitors or you will not attract them to click on your ad. You should be aware that when you are buying keywords you are actually purchasing a pass for your traffic. Hence,
unless the content and the ad are complementary, you will not be able to raise any profit. This is one element that is taken for granted by most first-timers causing them loses where they could have made profit.

3. Cheaper keywords: Google is the best today true.
But they are not the only ones in the market. If you are functioning on a shoestring budget, you can definitely try out some other search engines. Some of the choices you can have are Brainfox, findwhat, etc.
Try them out.

4. Track your ads: It is extremely wise to keep a
check on how your money flows by tracking your advertising. In order to repair damages in time, you will need to know where and when you are hitting the wrong buttons. This information will be available for you only when you keep track of your ads with continuous tracking. For this purpose you may use the services of professional tracking agencies. This may be a bit costly but it is worth the effort. Another way to keep track is to set up a separate landing-page for each of your sources. In this way your own website can give you the requisite statistics and you can see clearly which search engine gives you the best results. This method can be very good if set up correctly. You will have to ensure that the feeder articles (pages) which propagate free traffic combine well with the PPC traffic so you can get a low per-visitor cost in the long run.

5. SEO: You must have feeder pages set up so you come up high on the organic searches. When the organic searches rank you high you are likely to attract heavy free traffic. What is he best part
here is that as you move up on rank in the organic search, the ppc also will move up and hence earn you better profit.

Earning profit with adsense is a piece of cake once you have all things set in place. It is very important though, to achieve the right balance
between the use of keywords and the ppc. In order to be on the safe side, a periodic if not regular tracking should be done and according to the findings, the required fine tunings should be done. Unless this is done, you will not be able to stop the losses when they occur, nor will be able to raise your profits when the market is ripe for it.

Adsense and Keywords

I need to start with an analogy to explain the importance of keywords. Your selection of keywords is the ‘heart of your business’ as far as adsense income is determined. The heart, yes the most important organ of your body, not your leg or your wrist, but your heart. If your heart is failing, putting a bandage on your wrist isn’t going to work.

So here is the crunch… If your adsense income has dropped or you need to build an adsense business, then look after your heart. It is the life blood of the system, it pumps the money into your adsense account

It has taken a few hard lessons for me to understand this principle. This is how I felt the pump, pump, pump send a light bulb moment to my brain. It started when the town I live in lost the internet connection. Phew… I’m sure that everyone has lost a connection for as little as ten minutes and thought their world had ended. But I lost the internet connection for three days. I got on with other stuff as you do, but what I did do is re-read some of the books I had purchased.

Of course, years on from getting more knowledge, to re-read an ebook generally is boring; and most of it was, but I kept stumbling, pausing and contemplating on the keyword section of the ebooks. If keywords are the heart of a business you need to dedicate more time and effort to keep them healthy.

If you are starting out, use the system below. If you already have adsense websites and the income has dropped, you need to be aware that trends change and the keyword you chose a year ago may not be the major one being searched for today. Go through this procedure and add another 250 pages.

We all use the keyword tools available and knock up a 5,000 keyword list in half an hour, spend another hour sifting through and choosing our prime keywords. That’s it we’re done. But… would you take an hour and a half to mould and create a heart and expect to live beyond a few months?

Once your website is up and running, I would guess you must spend 2 or 3 hours a day trying to get traffic to your website. This effort could be a little wasted if your keyword choice is hurried.

Here is the best way to choose keywords to maximize your search engine positions. Let’s assume that you need 250 keywords. Up to 50 of those should be first tier. These should include all the main associated keywords and most important should be ‘high’ paying keywords too. These you can check through either the free Google Keyword Tool or through varying software keyword tools.

These first 50 keywords will be the fiercely competed words and as a consequence you’ll not rank very high for them initially. Yet long term, the optimization, the blogs, social networking and bookmarking should help rise those 50 web pages nearer the top of the search rankings.

The other 200 keywords you choose will be ‘long tail keywords’. You may start with a 1,000 to sift through to finish up with 200. First you need to check each keyword separately. Allocate a day to do this, because the effort you put in now will serve you well. The purpose of checking as I’m going to mention is so that you get onto the front page of Google as soon as the search engines crawl your deep inside pages.

The first thing to check is if that long tail keyword gets traffic each month. Between 50 to 500 hits per month is fine for long tail keywords. Above those hits per month and you’ll probably find that too many other websites are competing for that keyword. Below that amount and you may find the quantity of hits vary from a few hits a month to zero hits.

Once you have a selection that meet the first criteria, then you need to check the competing sites. Is there 2,000 or is there 8? To do this you need to put this search query into Google - inurl:my-keywords - replacing my-keywords with your own of course. Use both variations, with dashes separating the words and without dashes. Make a note of the total of competing websites. Once you gone through them all you can make a decision on which keywords are going to get you on the front page of Google.

Even if your web page isn’t optimized too well, if there are only 8 competing websites, you’ll appear on the front page. This will mean a steady but small flow of traffic 50 to 500 hits per month. Multiply that by the sites with long tail keywords and the minimum you could expect, once the search engines have listed the inner pages, is 200 x 50 = 10,000.

There are also other options to consider if you are adding web pages slowly. Use in the Google search box “allintitle: and allinanchor: keyword”. Extra work, but will pay off in the long run.

A reasonable time limit to expect all 250 pages listed in Google, so long as you’ve done the necessary blogging or bookmarking, should be 4 to 6 weeks; it can be done quicker but more work is involved.

Don’t just rely on Google, you’ll need to submit your site to other major engines as well. Plus if you are by chance one of eight on that first Google page, you’ll need to make sure that your description tag is better than all the other tags on that Google page, as they often use that tag to display to content of the site.

10,000 possible hits per month within the first 10 weeks, not bad for a beginner… Realistically if you shared that with the other sites, you may only get 2,000 visitors enter your site per month, but that is still good. Of course… the visitor who clicks your web site link is relatively targeted by this stage and your conversion rate for clicking on adsense ads could be between 10 to 20%. 10% of 2,000 clicks is 200, which could be worth $50 to $200. The day’s work you spent on sifting these keywords has paid for itself. Then you can expect more of the same the following month. As many adsense professionals have 5 to 20 websites, multiply the expected earning by the websites and suddenly you can see the potential, and I may add this is before you start trying to get traffic. Glory days… if you get the job done right.

Blogs and Adsense-How To Make Money

If you like to blog and you would like to make money from your blog, then consider utilizing Adsense.

Google Adsense requires pasting code on your blog page that will generate advertisements. When you have done this, relevant ads related to your blog content will show up on your page. For example, if your blog is about 'pet care', then all the ads that appear on your site from Adsense, will be about 'pet care'. Pretty neat, isn't it?

Adsense-How does it work?

To keep it elementary, you get paid every time someone clicks on one of your advertisements. That's it. If a visitor comes to your site, hopefully one of your ads will fascinate their eye, and clink on the link. Every time somebody does this, you make money.

How to get traffic to your Blog/Adsense site

There's a number of techniques to get traffic to your blog. You can utilize any one of these ideas, but I recommend that you employ all of them for success.

(1) Publish unique and instructive articles for your blog.

(2) Publish on a regular basis.

How often ought you publish? That's up to you. Just make certain it's consistent. If it is once a week, then make certain you publish once a week. I personally like to publish once a week because this permits me to take my time to compose an effective article. Occasionally, I'll write two or more articles and then set up my blog to publish my articles a week apart. I utilize this method when I have great ideas. It helps me not to have burn out too. If you prefer to publish more frequently, you can, but just remember to be consistent.

(3) Rewrite the articles that you've published and submit them to article directories, such as GoArticles.com or ezinearticles.com.

This is another reason why I publish only once a week. Once I've written my master article, I'll then rewrite it so I can submit it to one of the article directories. I only pick out one directory since I do not want to submit duplicate content to the web. Nevertheless, if somebody uses your article, it will be duplicated anyways, go figure. You could rewrite the article a 3rd time, if you have the time, or you can utilize any of the tools on the web that will rewrite it for you. I have not discovered one that works well for me, so I just do it by hand. 'WordFlood', is a fine free tool to use to help you rewrite your articles. It highlights every word and when you hover over a word it will show you a listing of associated words. You are able to then scroll down and pick a different word to substitute the master. It's a pretty cool tool.

But the rationality for you rewriting your articles and submitting them to directories is to acquire backlinks to your blog. In the author's bio box, I'll build a link back to my primary site, then I'll make a link in my 1st and concluding paragraph. I have the links in my first and final paragraphs point directly to the article I just published on my blog. I'll anchor the links with my top keywords for that article. For example, if I published an article about 'fleas' on my 'pet care' site, I might link the phrase, 'how to get rid of fleas', someplace in my 1st paragraph, then I may link the phrase, 'flea control', in my concluding paragraph. The intention of this process is to show the search engines what top keywords you would like to employ to point to the article on your blog.

(4) If you're using Firefox, add the plug in called 'Searchstatus'. This plug in permits you to see the pageranks and the Alexa ratings for whatever site you visit. Additionally, it has the function of highlighting the sites that are dofollow sites. These sites, whenever you make a comment on them, creates a link back to your site. The majority of sites are not dofollow but nofollow, so this cool plug in helps you to not waste your time commenting all over, hoping for a backlink. Make about 3 to 5 comments on sites that have got good pagerank and related content to your blog, and eventually, you'll get indexed by the SEs and you'll begin bringing hits to your blog.

As your blog gets visible to the SEs, a lot of traffic will come to your blog. And if you have Google Adsense set up on your blog displaying relevent advertisements, you visitors could click on them and you might be on your way to making money online.

Joint Venture Can Generate a Ton of Money for You

It can take your business some place it's never been. In addition, nothing that you own will be placed at risk and you don't even have to spend a cent!

If you're going to do a Joint Venture, check out the heavy hitters first. Go straight to the top. Make an approach to them for a piece of the big time action. What have you got to lose? Your pride? Take a spoonful of that and put it on the dinner plate and see who eats it?

Newbie's, are you tired of all the stuff those big guys have been shoveling? Think about this. If all the material the big time gurus sell to you really works, then how come you aren't rich like them?

Do you have a problem accumulating wealth using other people's money and expertise? Piggybacking of other business clients, products and resources just may be the way for you to go at this point.

Can you really achieve something like this? You don't have any expert status, a mailing list, credibility, or even a product. We won't even consider the question of experience.

You have to consider your own strengths. Is your real strength in communicating? That could be half the battle with a Joint Venture. It's about bringing the right parties together. You must have no fear of approaching and persuading your intended partners. Consider their current products, targeted clients, and resources.

Think what would happen if these ingredients were merged? What would the synergy create? Do you envision unbelievable wealth? Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. You can get a share in that wealth building too.

For example, keep your ear to the ground. Think about the targeted customers in a particular company. Would they be responsive to an approach to buy something of value from another company?

The product and people would certainly compliment themselves if merged. Work up a plan, make the approach. Are you afraid that if you make the approach one of the principals might turn you down and run with the idea himself and cut you out?

You can't let that hold you back. You may have been the one individual who could pull this Joint Venture together and make it work. Take the bull by the horns and make the approach.

The key for you here is to create the type of Joint Venture that absolutely no one can say no to. Also, when they see your creative juices flowing, they'll realize that this joint venture wouldn't work without you.

Think over possible objections like, this won't work, this is a losing plan, anyone can see that, or even, nobody is going to steal my customers.

If you're the type of person who is not easily intimidated and can handle high powered people and their objections without getting rattled, there could be something for you in the joint ventures arena. Think of the possibilities!

You must have a strong belief in yourself that you can bring this deal to a close. Show the parties that they have fallen head first into a win/win situation. What is a joint venture but an agreement that will benefit three or more people? (Obviously considering you also).

Don't be overawed by people in high places. You can do this? I know you can bring someone with a targeted mailing list, and someone with a product that you believe will dovetail nicely with that mailing list together? If you know it too, then go ahead.

Convince them of the explosive possibilities of a joint venture? If you have the belief that you have the tools to do that, then what are you waiting for. You may have arrived.

How Google Ranks Ads for Adwords

An understanding of the way Google Adwords ranks PPC or paid search ads is vital if you wish to establish a profitable paid search strategy. Here is an overview on how Google ranks paid search listings:

Every time your ad is triggered by a key word/phrase, Google calculates the Ad Rank of each paid search listing. Listings with the highest Ad Rank are shown first and listings with the lowest Ad Rank are shown in the lowest positions or even not at all.

Ad Rank is determined by the following equation:

Ad Rank = 'Maximum Cost Per Click' x 'Quality Score'

As you can see, Quality Score plays as important a role as bid price does in determining
where your ad ranks.

This means a competitor who has a better quality score than yourself can actually rank above you for a lower cost per click (CPC).

It is your goal to achieve the highest possible position for the lowest possible cost.

Taking the Ad Rank equation into consideration, it becomes easy to see how a strong Quality Score can result in higher rankings at a lower price. How do you secure these higher listings at lower bid prices?

First, you should understand what Quality Score is and how you can increase yours.

Quality Score

Unfortunately, the way in which Google calculates your Quality Score is unknown.

However, Google does tell us many of the factors that determine Quality Score;

1 - A keyword's click through rate (CTR)
2 - The historical performance of that keyword
3 - The relevance of text in your ad
4 - The relevance of the keyword to its ad group
5 - The quality of your landing page
6 - Other, unknown relevancy factors.

Now that you know the fundamentals of how Google Adwords works, the question becomes; how to leverage the competitive PPC (Pay per Click) arena in your favour?

Optimising Your Google Adwords Account

In recent times the competition for broad key terms such as 'shoes', has sky-rocketed. This has resulted in higher cost per clicks for such terms.

A simple, yet effective technique is to target more specific key words, such as 'tennis shoes' or 'buy platform shoes.' The competition for these types of phrases is less aggressive, leaving you able to capture a large amount of traffic for a substantially lower cost-per-click.

This is known as targeting the long tail of search. While the key terms that fall into the 'long tail' are searched for less often than those broader more generic key terms, there are far more specific keywords than there are broad key terms.

That makes it possible to leverage the long tail to receive as much or even more traffic for substantially less money.

On top of the benefits above, concentrating on the long tail key words enables you to target your market more specifically. The result is often an increase in quality score, and a much stronger return on investment (ROI).

Achieving a Better Quality Score

If you have multiple products or services, it is possible to group them separately into categorical groups and make each ad group's ad text and landing page specific to each product or service.

By creating ad text that better matches a user's search query, it is possible to significantly increase an ads click-thru-rate. Moreover, by creating tailored landing pages specific to the product or products the user is searching for, it is possible to increase the number of conversions.

The benefits described above all contribute to a better quality score.

Because of this ranking algorithm it is possible for advertisers with a good click through rate to achieve a higher position for a lower CPC than their competition. This is why long tail related ads often appear higher in the Google results than general keywords, despite the fact that those advertisers are paying less per click.

Summary

Optimising a Pay per Click (PPC) account to achieve optimal results can be a very complex process. Firstly you will need to build out enough ads and keywords to target the long tail. This will involve a lot of keyword research. You will need to take into account category and product keywords, localization, common spelling mistakes, call to action keywords and so on.

Second, to make the most of those long tail keywords an advertiser will need to have very specific ad text. When dealing with hundreds of products it is tricky to generate a unique text ad and landing page for each one. Nonetheless, this is essential to maintaining a good CTR. PPC management companies will often have their own in-house tools to achieve this.

Testing ad text variations and testing landing pages are also important steps in achieving the most from your advertising spend.

However the most important step is measuring and managing the ROI on each keyword. Since the PPC arena is constantly changing, constant monitoring is essential. The value of every keyword is also constantly changing therefore it is essential that you work on a keyword management strategy to deal with this. Bid management tools can be especially helpful here, as can a third party PPC Management Company.

Is The Google Is King Of The Search Engines...

With your SEo efforts, focus on the things that will get the best results the fastest. The latest articles, news and ebooks seem to think its methoda that fool Google. Stop wasting your time. Save your hard earned money.

Google is the king of the search engines. What Google does, all others follow. They employ some of the best minds in the internet and software industry. They are as ethical as can be on the web. Why would you even want to try to fool them in any way? As a general, do your keyword research, have good, fresh content on your site and indexing and
site rankings will follow.

Yes, some people think that they have tricked Google. They truly believe that something they did has rocketed their site to the top of Google's listings.
They believe that they have managed to "stick it to the man." Nine times out of ten when this happens they either performed an SEO procedure that Google allows or even endorses or they just happened to fill Google's criteria better than other sites in their
keyword niche without even realizing it.

Once in a while someone does actually come up with a way to fool Google. For a few months they seem to ride high, but as soon as Google notices it has been cheated the site is removed from their index. Usually they get banned.

The reality is that Google has incredible power on the web. Anyone with a real interest in making money on the internet should consider that getting banned from the search engines effectively removes your site from the marketing arena. They don't have to let you back in, and they don't have to give you any right to respond. Stay on the SEO "good" side.

Aside from the fact that Google will remove you from its listings, there is another incentive against trying to fool them. Ethically, you are fooling your clients. There is no reason to try to lure visitors onto your page expecting to get something and really giving them something else. This is a poor way to conduct business and more often than not it will
chase the customer away for good.

If you want your website to be found in categories that don't apply to it, try purchasing ads on pages that are listed towards the top of the Google listings in these categories. You can actually increase your sites reputation in Google's eyes rather than hurting it by adding another link to your site. This is an excellent form of marketing because it allows you to reach out beyond your market simply by dishing out a few dollars a month.

Some of the most popular methods of trying to fool Google's PageRank system are link farms and link exchanges. Link farms are basically websites that exist only to get links to specific sites counted by the search engines. Link exchanges are groups of websites that each pay a monthly fee to link to each other - like link farms, only more expensive
and dodgy. In both cases, the websites involved are attempting to climb the ranks of Google's search results through the sheer quantity of links to them -this is known as Google bombing. But it doesn't always work.

Why is Google so harsh?

It knows that cheaters can ruin their search engine's reputation, thus marketing revenue. It's all about money and profits and power. If link farms inflate the rankings of less-useful Websites, then we'll all start seeing worse search results. That's why Google constantly updates PageRank to keep those kinds of sites away. The Page Rank formula that Google implements is complicated, not published and ever
changing.

It has been found recently that Goggle is now sending out 'cloak bots', disobeying robots.txt to find out whether sites are 'cloaking' - serving a different page to search engines - than what visitors see. These 'cloak bots' are controversial but seem to have some positive effects on the Google's results.

Unethical methods make it difficult for people who are trying to do SEO the proper way, which is one of the reasons why it needs to be monitored so carefully. If people stopped trying to find ways to manipulate the system, it would be much easier to keep up with what's going on.
Learn some tips on why trying to fool Google with your site SEO means disaster, not a faster way to the top of the search engines.

Google Adsense Affiliate Programs Met

Are you a webmaster who needs funds to keep your website running? Or is your website the only way for you to earn income? Whichever you are, for as long as you are a webmaster or a web publisher and you need cash, affiliate marketing may work well for you. With affiliate marketing, you may get a lot of cash pouring into your bank account easily. And if your website is rich in great contents and you want to earn more profit, why not get into the Google Adsense program as well?

Why Affiliate Marketing?

Well, simply because affiliate marketing is the easiest and probably the best way to earn profits online, unless otherwise you are a businessman and would rather sell your own products online than advertise other businessman's products on your site. But even online retailers can benefit from affiliate marketing programs, because affiliate marketing actually works for merchants as well as it works for the affiliates.

Affiliate marketing, simply said, is a relationship or agreement made between two websites, with one site being the merchant's website and the other being the affiliate's site. In the relationship, the affiliate agrees to let the merchant advertise his products on the affiliate's site. The merchant, on the other hand, would agree to pay the affiliate in whatever method they have agreed into. This would generally mean easy income for the affiliate, as he would do nothing but place the retailer's ad on his site. This would also be very beneficial for the merchant, as getting affiliates to advertise their products would be a lot more affordable than hiring an advertising firm to promote their products.

There are a variety of methods on how the merchant would compensate the affiliate for his services, and for the webmaster, these methods simply translates to the method by which he would earn easy cash. Among the more common methods of compensation are the pay-per-click method, the pay-per-lead method, and the pay-per-sale method. The pay-per-click method is the method most preferred by affiliates, for their site's visitor would only have to visit the advertiser's site for them to gain money. The other two methods, on the other hand, are better preferred by merchants, as they would only have to compensate you if your visitor becomes one of their registrants or if the visitor would actually buy their products.

Getting much profit on affiliate marketing programs, however, does not depend so much on the compensation method is it does on the traffic generated by your site. A website that can attract more visitors would generally have the greater chance of profiting in affiliate marketing programs.

What about Google Adsense?

Google Adsense is actually some sort of an affiliate marketing program. In Google Adsense, Google act as the intermediary between the affiliates and the merchants. The merchant, or the advertiser, would simply sign up with Google and provide the latter with text ads pertaining to their products. These ads, which is actually a link to the advertisers' website, would then appear on Google searches as well as on the websites owned by the affiliates, or by those webmasters who have signed up with the Google Adsense program.

While one can find a lot of similarities between Google Adsense and other affiliate marketing programs, you can also see a lot of differences. In Google Adsense, all the webmaster has to do is place a code on his website and Google takes care of the rest. The ads that Google would place on your site would generally be relevant to the content of your site. This would be advantageous both for you and for the advertiser, as the visitors of your site would more or less be actually interested with the products being advertised.

The Google Adsense program compensates the affiliate in a pay-per-click basis. The advertisers would pay Google a certain amount each time their ad on your site is clicked and Google would then forward this amount to you through checks, although only after Google have deducted their share of the amount. Google Adsense checks are usually delivered monthly. Also, the Google Adsense program provides webmasters with a tracking tool that allows you to monitor the earnings you actually get from a certain ad.

So, where do all of these lead us to?

Where else but to profits, profits and even more profits! Affiliate marketing programs and the Google Adsense program simply work, whether you are the merchant or the affiliate. For the merchant's side, a lot of money can be saved if advertising effort is concentrated on affiliate marketing rather than on dealing with advertising firms. For the webmaster, you can easily gain a lot of profits just by doing what you do best, and that is by creating websites. And if you combine all your profits from both the Google Adsense program and other affiliate marketing programs, it would surely convert to a large amount of cash.

Success With Google Adsense

So you place a google adsense ad on your page and you will begin making money immediately, right? Not exactly. This is a common misconception amongst internet marketers that can cause frustration and ultimately lead to many quitting with no success. If you can believe this, there is actually work and strategic planning involved with you making money with google adsense. So what are these secrets to success with google adsense you may be wondering?

The placement of your google adsense ad on the page is crucial to how much money you will make. It is vital that you place the ad above the fold on your page in order to get the most clicks. What this means is you want to place the ad high enough on the page that visitors do not have to scroll down to see your ad.

By placing the google adsense ad above the fold you are increasing the odds of people clicking on the ad. The reason for this is because a majority of your readers do not read your entire site or the entire page. For the most part people glance over some of the key points on the top part of the page without worrying about scrolling down. If you place the ad higher, you have a better chance to get clicks out of these types of visitors.

The way you blend the ad with the rest of your page can determine if the ad is visually appealing or not. You want to try and make your google adsense ad look less like an ad and more like your work. You can do this by making the font and color of the ad's text similar to the text on the rest of the page. It is also recommended that you blend or mesh the background of the ad with the background of your page.

What you place around your ad can have just as much affect as the google adsense has itself for success. You want to eliminate any kind of clutter that can distract and disorient readers when they come to your page. It may seem appealing to you to place banners and pictures and text all over the page, but this is simply cluttering the page. If the page is cluttered you are increasing the chances of your visitors completely skipping over the google adsense ad altogether.

The last secret to success with google adsense is similar to your website in general. You want to pick a niche that is similar to your website and stick with that niche for all of the ads you place on your website. By selecting a niche you have a better chance for keyword optimization and targeting your readers with relevant ads to what they are searching for on your website.

It is the little things that most never even consider that can make the difference between success and failure with google adsense. If you do all of these secrets listed above and generate traffic to your website, you should have no problem having success with google adsense.
